bar, The Oxford Pub.

Commodore Hobbies and Interests: Snow-skiing, biking, sports (UW and Packers/Brewers).

Commodore Community Involvement: Rotary,
La Crescent Mayor (3 terms), Houston County Board Chairman, 21 years ski patrol, church board, Bethany board, Meals on Wheels, past president of the River City Water Ski team and was involved with the organization for years, NASA; the North American Squirrel Association.

First Mate Hobbies and Interests: Reading (2 book clubs), water recreation, gardening, grandchildren.

First Mate Community Involvement: Meals on Wheels, Neighbors in Action, mentor for single mother of four through YWCA, NASA volunteer.

Interesting Family History: Janet’s great-grandfather was in the Civil War.

Tell the story of how you were asked to be a Commodore and First Mate: Jack was invited over to Burt Morris’s house under the pretext of community concerns. It didn’t take long before they asked him.

One thing on your Bucket List: Before the grandkids are too old (or we’re too old!), take our whole family to an island in the Caribbean.
