Interesting Family History: Dominique’s mother knew Willem Dafoe’s father. He was a doctor at the hospital she worked at in Appleton, WI. She always described him as a nice
man, but explained that he actually pronounced his last name ‘DAY-foh’.

Dominique’s maiden name – Sicard – is of French origin. It’s derived from the Germanic roots of ‘Sig’ (victory) and ‘Hard’ (strong) – so it’s possible that in medieval times, her family
were ‘victorious and strong’ knights. The family coat of arms features a white swan.

Dustin has German nobility on his mother’s side, although his father’s side is 100% German (Lücke is the traditional spelling of his last name). Family lore says the nobility on his mother’s side came from defeating the French.

Dustin’s mother’s side of the family was also instrumental in founding the Hokah, MN area
